About Kathy Mitchell
Twenty five years experience in policy advocacy, from base building to direct lobbying. Twelve years experience, both paid and volunteer, in digital political advocacy, email list acquisition and management, writing (all channels), and web development for nonprofit organizations. More than ten years experience, largely as a volunteer myself, managing volunteers and connecting them to the political process. Twenty years - with a couple breaks - as a volunteer with a wide range of groups fighting for criminal justice reform and more accountable policing. Prior to managing online advocacy for Consumers Union, I lobbied the Texas Legislature and managed policy research for Consumers Union\'s Texas office. I\'m basically a writer, policy researcher, and data analyst, constantly upgrading what I can do to meet the challenges of a changing communication landscape. Specialties: Email management, volunteer management and development, issue strategy, research, open records access, health policy and health insurance policy, criminal justice policy.
