ABOUT KATHY WHITE-WEBSTER
Kathy was Head of a highly succesful Drama and Dance Department at Queen Elizabeth High School. She formed and chaired Tyler\'s Green Community Association. She studied MBSR and MBCT at Bangor University for three years and has a postgraduate certificate. She is experienced in teaching Jon Kabat- Zinn\'s 8 week programme.Receiving his teachings has deepened her commitment to her own daily practice. Kathy has practised meditation for over 25 years attending teachings at Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery and studying Mindfulness and Compassion and Wisdom and Insight for four years with Rob Nairn. She follows\' The Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness\'.She has attended Teacher Development Retreat 1 and 2 with Bangor University and Holy Isle Retreat with Rob Nairn. Kathy taught at Tashi Lhunpo Tibetan monastery school,Bylakuppe,India in February 2010 after establishing cultural and educational links with the monastery and QEHS in 2003. She supports the monks\' UK visit to the North East by organising school workshops, sand mandalas and performances.She was founder and director of QEHS Community Youth theatre 19••••08.Kathy and Dorothy Heathcote led a team of 8 teachers from different disciplines using Dorothy\'s new paradigm of education-The Commission Model. She has co-taught on the one year Mindfulness programme run byThe Mindfulness Association at Samye Ling.Kathy is trained to teach.b -programme designed to teach young people in schools. She taught the Adult.b programme to staff at Queen Elizabeth High School, Hexham as part of Exeter University\'s research programme.Kathy has taught Mindfulness in Education with the Mindfulness Association at Samye Ling in 2014.Kathy has taught MBSR 8 week programme at St Oswald\'s Hospice with patients and with staff.Teaching MBLC is a transforming experience. Compassion and Loving Kindness are at the heart of the teacher training with the Mindfulness Association. Kathy’s personal practice was enriched as a result of co- teaching in Warsaw and Barcelona on the Mindfulness Association teacher training programme.
