ABOUT KATHY HAMILTON-BROWN

Experienced Educator with 27 plus years with Brevard Public Schools. Previous roles as an Educator were: ESE Teacher, Inclusion Teacher, Reading Coach, Literacy Coach, and Teacher on Assignment. Present position is an Assistant Principal at Suntree Elementary School in Melbourne, Florida. Certifications are: ESE K-12, Psychology 6-12, Reading Endorsed K-12, ESOL Endorsed K-12, and Educational Leadership K-12. I\'m a vital member of my community. I volunteer and have current and past memberships with Henrietta Chapter 66, Order of the Eastern Star, PHA, Cocoa FL, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Central Brevard NAACP, Brevard Schools Foundation, Brevard Alliance of Black School Educators, Brevard Association of School Administration, National Congress of Black Women, Merritt Island Women of the Moose, City of Cocoa Police Advisory Board, Buffalo Soldier Motorcycle Club, and Take Stock in Children Mentor. One of the greatest honors I have received was being the 2020 Teacher of the Year for Brevard Public Schools.Skilled in Coaching, Lesson Planning, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, and Team Building. Strong education professional with a Master\'s degree focused in Educational Leadership and Administration, from Nova Southeastern University, Bachelor\'s degree in Psychology, from the University of Central Florida, and Associates of Arts degree from Brevard Community College in Business Administration.I am committed to educating students, colleagues, families, and the community through establishing strong connections and building everlasting relationships. I believe every child is unique and deserves a caring, inspiring, and engaging learning environment to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
