Kathy Costa McKeown is an accomplished dance educator, choreographer, and performer with over 30 years of experience. She holds a BFA in Dance from Montclair State University and is certified in Pilates Mat and The Ellové Technique. Her training in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, and Choreography has shaped versatile dancers of all ages.She has taught at the Montclair Cooperative School and Montclair Kimberley Academy and continues to study in NYC to provide students with current and inspiring instruction. Kathy is also an early childhood specialist, a certified life coach for adolescents and young adults, and the author of \"How to Heal a Cracked Heel; Let’s Google It.\"As Artistic Director of DanceWorks & Company for 27 years, she has led teen dancers on international tours across Europe and Africa, including performances in London, Barcelona, Milan, Athens, and more. She has shared her expertise with studios in Cape Town and children at refugee camps in Beirut.Kathy’s performance credits include The Other Dance Company, DownTown Dance Co, and PM Dance & Video Works. She has studied Anusara Yoga for five years, adding depth to her teaching and approach to body alignment.She serves on the Board of Dance New Jersey, the Advisory Council for Dance at NJPAC, and the Montclair Dance Festival Board. A recipient of the Del Keiffner Award and listed in Marquis Who’s Who, Kathy’s passion, energy, and commitment continue to inspire dancers around the world.
