ABOUT KATHY BAZOIAN PHELPS

Kathy Bazoian Phelps is a partner at Raines Feldman Littrell LLP in Los Angeles and represents trustees and receivers, debtors, and secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy cases. Kathy has extensive litigation experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of bankruptcy litigation matters and is recognized by peers for her ability to trace and recover assets in large-scale complex cases and for her familiarity with all issues arising in Ponzi scheme cases and cases involving fraud. She frequently represents operating and liquidating trustees in cases pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court as well as receivers in the United States District Court and the Superior Court of the State of California.Kathy also serves as a federal equity receiver in cases initiated by the SEC and the CFTC, administering complex cases involving both securities and commodities. She is well positioned to serve as a fiduciary in cases involving fraud, real estate, securities, commodities, precious metals, cryptocurrency, and digital assets, EB5 programs, or almost any kind of asset. She formulates and implements distribution plans in cases involving large numbers of investors and creditors and often competing classes of claimants.Kathy also assists clients in submitting whistleblower claims regarding fraudulent activity to the SEC, CFTC, or other regulatory agencies and in presenting their claims for any applicable whistleblower awards.Kathy also serves as a mediator to help resolve business and bankruptcy disputes. She has a very high rate of success and can handle mediations with multiple parties and sticky issues.
