As a student design technician at the Foundry, I.+ Bring the Wellesley perspective to the “fourth culture,” an interdisciplinary combination of Olin College of Engineering, Babson College, and Wellesley College+ Design programming to promote the fourth culture and bring students not familiar with maker spaces into the Foundry+ Act as an advisor on student projects, assisting with both prototyping and design skills as well as product and project management+ Lead orientations of the Foundry and the four design studios (woodshop, textiles and electronics, digital fabrication, and print)+ Train other students to use the Ultimaker and Stratasys 3D printers, and am personally trained to use all equipment in the space (includes a woodshop, sewing station, soldering station, SLA 3D printers, and laser cutters)
