About Katie Beymer

howdy. i’m passionate about what i do and love the community i collaborate with, but before you reach out please look at these very talented folks at these organizations – blackswho.design – hireblackcreatives.co – • hire and pay diverse creative talent! TROPHY CASE: When I came on at eROI/Thesis I helped launch a new channel for our sportswear brand. I built out all templates and resources for the channel and led a team of five people while also completing my own work. Shortly after eROI became Thesis, our Studio Manager shifted into a new role and I took the initiative to ask for and fill that position. I continued to design and take on the responsibilities of associate studio manager. I resourced / coordinated all projects from our sportswear brand to our design team and worked with accounts teams / clients daily. I am a volunteer for Where Are The Black Designers. WATBD is an initiative and platform to connect Black designers, educators, and creative leaders. I came on as a volunteer after the initial event ended and work to host a dialogue about change, both in and out of the design industry – hire, pay, promote, and uplift Black creators. SUPERPOWERS: Accountability. Use your voice to lift up the people you work alongside. Keep your colleagues and leadership accountable, push for workplace equity, don’t tolerate any -isms – continue to listen, learn and speak up. Create community, equity, and transparency through your actions and your words. Communication. If you don’t have a good, open, clearly communicated relationship with leadership, coworkers, or clients you’re gonna have a bad time. The simple act of showing up for the conversation shows you\'re listening, invested, and always ready to work. Hustle. Work hard, be humble. There\'s a difference between being busy and working. I\'m a worker and continued education is key. I approach all work with a student mindset and am always learning. Check your ego at the door and work as a team, see how far you go. EXTRACURRICULARS: I love playing with my daughters and my partner, record hunting, quoting Jurassic Park, re-reading Harry Potter, and tarot reading / astrology.
