About Kathryn Linford
I’ve spent 31 years working in technology, helping organizations design, implement, and maintain the systems their operations rely on. Early in my career that meant serving as the official “IT guy” for the Australian Olympic team during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, working as a technology consultant supporting film and television productions for 15 years, and later managing large environments in industries where downtime simply isn’t an option. Those experiences taught me a lot about logistics and how quickly small technology issues can turn into big operational problems when people are relying on systems to just work.Over time, my work shifted into executive IT leadership. I’ve helped organizations in retail, manufacturing, and logistics rethink how their technology supports day-to-day operations. That has included everything from rebuilding infrastructure and moving systems to the cloud to implementing cybersecurity and compliance programs in environments where large amounts of data and transactions are moving every day.I understand business because I’ve owned and ran several of them. As an entrepreneur, I’ve had firsthand responsibility for payroll, inventory, operations, and customer experience. That experience gave me a different perspective on technology. IT has to work in the real world of running a business.Today I’m the CEO of Insight IT, where our team provides managed IT services, cybersecurity, and cloud solutions for businesses.
