ABOUT KATIE CARPENTER

I\'m an award-winning Multimedia Producer with a passion for creative storytelling that makes an impact. As a public media producer, currently on the Digital Studios team at The WNET Group, I lead cross-departmental & external content teams in creating award-winning multimedia productions for station-wide initiatives on arts & culture, civic engagement, climate change, poverty, racism & antisemitism that have engaged millions across multiple content platforms. I also design strategies and community engagement opportunities that spark deeper understanding and meaningful dialog around important historic, cultural and social issues like the Vietnam War, housing access, climate change, and racial justice. Using a human-centered design approach, I collaborate closely with community partners and advisors to design for and with community to make a meaningful impact around these issues. In addition to my production and multimedia campaign experience, I have over a decade of experience in both the advertising and television industries as a video editor, working on national television ad campaigns, music videos, documentaries, short films and television shows.
