About Kathryn Phillippe

I am the current Cultural Programs Coordinator for the Alliance Française of Washington D.C, one of 819 chapters found in 137 countries. I work closely with local partners, nonprofits, small businesses, and embassies of various countries to curate cultural events which promote the Francophone world. Formerly an English Language Educator and Teaching Assistant employed by France Education International (FEI) and renewing participant of TAPIF, a joint program between the Embassy of France to the United States and FEI (Two-term: Academie de Bordeaux, Academie de Lyon). Former university-level English Instructor at IUT de Saint-Étienne (T1). Previously served a French to English interpreter in Grosuplje, Ljubljana, Slovenia.I hold a Master’s in International Education and Cultural Training (FFI-IET), received with high honors from the Université de Bordeaux, INSPE campus. I received my undergraduate diploma with Cum Laude honors from Allegheny College, majoring in International Studies, French, and History. I hold a certificate of study from Moscow International University/Московский международный университет, where I virtually studied Russian Language and Area Studies in conjunction with the American Councils. Former U.S. Department of State Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar.Former intern and mentor with the World Affairs Council and the International Rescue Committee.Spoken languages: French, Russian, and Arabic Languages in progress: Portuguese, Spanish
