About Kathryn C.

I am a recent graduate of University of Akron School of Law. I graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelors in Chemistry. I also graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors in Strategic Communications, which includes Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, and Media and Media Relations. I also have an art degree from the Clarion with a mix of studio classes and art history classes. Currently, I am an Associate Attorney at a historical, boutique Intellectual Property law firm in downtown Cleveland, where I handle a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, patent litigation and inter partes reviews, as well as extensive experience in trademark prosecution for large private companies, institutions, and individuals.

   The Unreal Campaign is our consumer awareness initiative to educate those aged 14 to 23 about the importance of trademarks and brands and the dangers of purchasing counterfeit products. We reach them through illustrative, relatable presentations, largely at schools, youth-oriented events, or virtual platforms, and through social media engagement.In working to curb the proliferation of counterfeit products worldwide, we emphasize that brand owners seek to protect trademark rights and their consumers—pointing to the links between fake goods and health and safety risks, organized crime, job losses, and damage to local communities and their economies.We’re making an impact worldwide. With the support of the Unreal Campaign Committee and other volunteers, we’ve directly reached more than students in 40 jurisdictions since we unveiled the Campaign in 2012.As we encourage young consumers to say “no” to what’s unreal, we ask you to say “yes” to participating in the Campaign.
