ABOUT KATHRYN A. TENG

As a physician, health care executive, and team leader at leading institutions such as Babylon Health, MetroHealth, Cleveland Clinic, and Massachusetts General Hospital, I have focused on delivering high-quality care to my patients while providing strong leadership and managing costs. I have been at the forefront of value-based care innovations that have reduced disparities in population healthcare and improved care delivery.I have developed leadership expertise in numerous areas: Population healthcare re-design Value-based care delivery, integrated behavioral health, telehealth Large ambulatory primary care, dental, and behavioral health P&L responsibility and budget management Data-driven, pragmatic operational management and quality improvement (QI) System re-design, cross-organizational cultural change, and clinical integration Collaborative, team-based leadership After graduating and completing my medical training at Vanderbilt University, I served as an Assistant in Medicine at Harvard University and as a staff physician at Massachusetts General Hospital Revere Community Health Center. My career path was clarified by my recognition and deepening understanding of healthcare disparities; the more I analyzed the challenges in serving disparate populations, the more I became driven to make systemic changes that improved health outcomes for large and underserved populations. At the Cleveland Clinic, I held leadership roles in Personalized Healthcare and Patient Experience, which provided opportunities to expand my leadership capabilities and build innovative programs that had measurable impact. At MetroHealth in Cleveland, I held several concurrent roles. I lead the system’s largest service line, the Adult Health and Wellness Service line (AWSL). I also held the position of Vice-Chair, Operations for Department of Medicine and Chief Medical Officer of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) for the MetroHealth system. As Chief Primary Care Officer for Babylon Health, I have created and managed a national network of virtual primary care and urgent care providers with integrated behavioral health in a digital-first, value-based model of care. In my current role at Progressive, I oversee advanced primary care services, population health & wellbeing efforts across the organization, and provide clinical insights for benefits and other business needs.I welcome connections who share my professional interests.
