ABOUT KATHLEEN SCHAEF
Initially trained as a chemical engineer, I started my career as a operations engineer which gave me a strong foundation for systems thinking. Driven by my desire to contribute to the usability of products and user-centered design, I completed my masters in Human Factors. My current role at Airbus Upnext as a Human Factors Engineer combines my experience with AI/ML products, human factors methods, and operational background and allows me to apply this to the future of automation in aircrafts. I am passionate about how technology can support decision making and human performance. Through my diverse experiences, I have developed exceptional interpersonal skills that allow me to foster empathy in every interaction I have.
