Led the strategic vision and oversight of implementation for IFAWs US marine conservation initiatives. Spearheaded the realignment and reinvigoration of the organization\'s priority project to save the North Atlantic right whale. Created, fostered, and elevated a holistic, strategic campaign to save the North Atlantic right whale built on the foundations of field work, policy, advocacy, and community level engagement with essential stakeholders directly impacted on the water by regulatory efforts. Led a team with three cores staffers, 10+ contractors, and a minimum annual budget of $1.5M. Secured recurring funding streams from individual donors and foundations and instilled robust cross-team collaborations to leverage the full capacity of the global organization.Established as a content expert on marine conservation, and specifically on the North Atlantic right whale for the media, public events, subject reports, advocacy efforts, and IFAW assets. Hosted multiple Congressional briefing, fly-ins, and coalition lobby efforts. Secured a role as a voting member of the Atlantic Large Whale Take Reduction Team and cemented IFAW leadership in the US marine conservation and advocacy space by building a trusted network of diverse, bi-partisan partners, funders, and supporters to drive meaningful change.
