About Kathleen Odomirok

Kathleen (\"Kathy\") Odomirok is a Principal in the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP and leader of the property/casualty (P/C) actuarial practice in the US. She is based in the firm’s Boston office. Kathy has over 35 years of experience with EY serving insurance, reinsurance, government, and corporate clients. Her skill set includes assessment of insurance pricing and product capabilities, estimation of unpaid claims for P/C lines of business, merger and acquisition due diligence, and actuarial valuation. Kathy is a frequent speaker on financial reporting matters and is the lead author of the publication “Financial Reporting through the Lens of a Property/Casualty Actuary”, which is the main textbook for CAS Exam 6US. In 2016, Kathy won the Award for Outstanding Volunteerism from the American Academy of Actuaries for leading a complete overhaul of the COPLFR Practice Note on P/C Statements of Actuarial Opinion.In addition, Kathy has served on the Board of Directors of the CAS and the Board of Trustees of The Actuarial Foundation, chaired the Committee on Property and Liability Financial Reporting (COPLFR) of the American Academy of Actuaries, and served as General Officer and chaired a CAS education committee. She most recently served as Vice Chair of the Casualty Practice Council of the American Academy of Actuaries before being elected President of the CAS, a prestigious role she will proudly assume in November 2026.
