ABOUT KATHLEEN GAGNE

Love coming to work every day!Known worldwide as one of the great concert halls and locally loved for inspiring generations, Mechanics Hall is home to culture and community, hosting a full spectrum (260+!) of cultural, non-profit, entertainment, family, community, business and education events each year. I became Executive Director in September 2018 and my role allows me to focus on the Hall\'s future, deepen relationships in the community, and build the financial resources it will need to remain a treasured and robust community asset! Our historic (1857) venue is a masterpiece of sound and architecture. We’ve paired elegance with 21st century amenities to suit our clients’ needs and, thanks to the foresight of our founders, offer the most versatile cultural and meeting space in Central New England. Mechanics Hall is a 501c3 non-profit organization owned and operated by the Worcester County Mechanics Association (founded 1842).At Mechanics Hall for more than 25 years, I have led the public relations, marketing, creative programming, fundraising initiatives and donor relations. Lifelong enriching and diverse experience allows me to bring a creative and strategic approach to my work and volunteer roles. My communications career began in electronics and computing trade publishing. I have been every type of editor –copy, acquisitions, managing, and an editor-in-chief. I was on the start-up teams of a publishing company, four magazines, and two trade shows. I\'ve been the Public Affairs officer for a retired Army Chief of Staff at a member C4I association. I’ve been a freelance editor for the U.S. Geological Survey and the National Science Foundation. I created a trade book distribution service and a very classy gift shop! I’ve sold newspaper advertising. I’ve been a private tutor and conducted writing workshops. I\'ve had extensive sales and leadership training.
