ABOUT KATHLEEN DOCKSTADER

With 31 years of hands on, successful teaching experience I am confident in my ability and passion to be a positive addition to your institution as a mathematics instructor. I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a Masters Degree in Education Instruction. Being versatile, I have had the opportunity of teaching students who are below, on, or above grade level. I have been exceedingly successful in accommodating a diverse population of students living in El Paso. I have facilitated the needs of all types of learners by offering individual and extra-curricular support as well as integrating various effective materials and technology. I encourage learning through computer based research activities, various computer programs and current technology devices. By incorporating classroom discussion, open-ended questions, co-operative learning, and SIOP techniques I am able to facilitate a highly interactive and inquisitive classroom atmosphere. I promote self-learning and discovery in my classroom by encouraging my students to seek help from three of their peers before asking me. I am a hard worker and well-rounded educator and follow core values of honesty, fairness and integrity. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you and discuss my extensive education experience, collaborative nature, and innovative classroom skills. In addition to my teaching in the classroom, I am a Texas Licensed to Carry Handgun Instructor/NRA Pistol Instructor. I own my own personal business called Lock N Load EP. I enjoy teaching people various techniques to learn to shoot or become a more accurate marksmen.
