About Kathleen Carroll

The short version: Creative type meets technical professional. The long version: I’ve always been pulled in two directions, torn between following my creative interests and my naturally scrutinous, analytical aptitude. I find equal satisfaction in putting together a perfectly coordinated, trendy outfit as I do solving a mind-crushing logic problem. It was not until recently that I uncovered a career path that blended analytical aptitude and creative thinking; discovering coding presented a balance between my two seemingly conflicting areas of interest and impassioned me to pursue a career in software development. My area of expertise is backend development, including building rails applications and RESTful APIs, figuring out complex ruby logic and advanced SQL queries, and pinpointing buggy code. My skills include learning quickly, working as a leader and contributor in teams, and tirelessly solving problems no matter how much googling it takes. I look forward to learning more and evolving as a software engineer, and my next areas of focus are exploring more front end development and learning python.
