About Katherine Derose

I am a rising senior at Cornell University studying Industrial and Labor Relations with a focus on data science and corporate social responsibility. This summer, I\'ll be joining Tiffany & Co. as a Data Transformation Intern for the Responsible Sourcing team, where I\'ll use data analytics to support the company\'s sourcing strategy and sustainability initiatives. I previously interned in Supply Chain Analytics at Henkel, where I analyzed data related to transportation management, yield, and make-to-strategy accuracy for the North American Adhesives division. My work supported improvements in logistics and production planning, resulting in measurable gains in operational efficiency and cost reduction. My research background includes a quantitative analysis of potential reporting metrics related to labor standards in global supply chains for the EU CS3D and similar legislation, with a focus on gender discrimination, supply chain consolidation, and worker safety. I have also conducted experimental research examining how perceptions of menstrual health conditions influence workplace stigma and support for employee accommodations, using both qualitative and quantitative methods to understand how employees can best communicate chronic health needs. As a coxswain and youth rowing coach, I have gained valuable experience in leadership, communication, and team dynamics, especially in high-pressure environments. I am a decisive planner who values structure and clarity, while also prioritizing active listening and effective communication. I approach challenges with a practical mindset and aim to contribute meaningfully in both team-based and analytical settings.
