My career coaching story began with the Microsoft layoff in 2014. I was working with Lee Hecht Harrison’s outplacement team, alongside a dozen career coaches to help over tech professionals land their next employment. My previous background was in the film industry, 3D animation, video games, and UX design. After leaving the tech sector, I found helping others going through a tough career transition after a job loss extremely rewarding. So, I stayed in this field.Today I work with mid-to-senior-level tech professionals who have recently lost their jobs and would like to use the layoff as an opportunity to pursue their dream careers. In the ever-changing job market, we must stay alert and keep up with the current state of technology. I understand that discovering how the post-pandemic economy has changed the current job market can be very stressful. Job seekers often feel pressured to learn new tools such as AI, modify or completely rewrite their resume and LinkedIn profile after they have been blissfully employed for several years, and start networking again to find their next employment opportunity.    During the first two years of post-pandemic times, I decided to go back into the tech sector and utilize my background in UX design. I designed a few mobile and web applications to help small businesses with online marketing, a relocation app, and a responsive website for a local hockey team. One of my biggest freelance projects was to design a mobile app for Callisto. Callisto is a national nonprofit organization leveraging cutting-edge technology to empower survivors of sexual violence. Callisto’s encrypted platform, Callisto Vault, enables campus survivors to securely document their assault, discover if their perpetrator has harmed others, and explore their options, whether or not they report.Another project I am very proud of working on was designing a social media marketing tool for an email marketing platform, such as Mail Chimp. As a former business owner myself, I remember wearing multiple hats. In addition to working with clients, I had to market my business and run it. It was extremely overwhelming to keep track of all my marketing content and leverage it on all social media channels. So I designed a feature that would combine blogging, email marketing, and social media marketing into one seamless process, eliminating the extra steps.
