About Katherine Zanaty

Katherine has over 20 years of experience in the design and construction fields. She incorporated Yellow Bird Project Management in April of 2017 as a boutique brand representing developers and owners. Her expertise includes capital improvement work, building re-envisioning, corporate workplace strategy, and base building development. Her projects span office, civic, medical and retail/restaurant sectors. Katherine takes great pride in balancing aesthetics with schedule and budget management. She began her career in architecture, but quickly shifted to roles as an owner\'s representative project manager in order to influence macro-level thinking on scope, budget and schedules. During a 10 year tenure at Cousins Properties, where she attained the role of Vice President - Development, she benefited from collaborating with industry-leading innovators and mentors, while learning REIT protocol and best practices. Katherine has a strong history of both civic and community involvement. She served on the Technical Advisory Panel for the City of Atlanta Office of Buildings from 20••••17. She served on the Dad’s Garage Improv Theater Executive Board of Directors and led the Building Task Force in the construction of their new location. She is a graduate of the 2014 class of Outstanding Atlanta, 2013 class of LEAD Atlanta, 2011 class of ULI Atlanta Center for Leadership. She served as Chair 2014 ULI Center for Leadership. She was a 2016 Juror for the ULI Hines Student Competition. Additionally, she chaired the Les Societe des Tetes Grandes (“The Big Heads”), supporting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for several years. She holds a B.S, Architecture, Georgia Institute of Technology, where she graduated with Highest Honors in 2001. She was a participant of the L’Ecole D’Architecture de la Villette study abroad program in Paris. For 15 years, Katherine sponsored the Spirit of the Studio annual scholarship program for Georgia Institute of Technology students. In addition, she served as a guest lecturer and visiting critic for the B.S.Arch Junior/Senior vertical studio Spring 2017.
