ABOUT KATHERINE WATKINS
As the Dean of Academics at Memphis School of Excellence, I am passionate about providing individual support and professional development to teachers and staff to enhance research-based effective instruction. With 13 years of experience in education, I have developed and refined my skills in instructional coaching, curriculum design, and data analysis. I am also proud to be a Tennessee Educator Fellow, a program that empowers educators to advocate for student-centered policies and practices. In this role, I have collaborated with other fellows and stakeholders to influence positive change in the education system. Additionally, I have received national recognition for my excellence in teaching, including the Milken Educator Award (TN \'17) and Teacher of the Year Award for the Millington Municipal School District.
