ABOUT KATHERINE KLINGER LESZCZYNSKI
My name is Katherine Leszczynski and I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where I completed the Middle Childhood-Early Adolescence teacher certification program. I graduated in December of 2014 with my Elementary Education degree as well as a minor in English-Language Arts. Originally from Wauwatosa, WI, I spent my school years until eighth grade in our local public school district. For high school I attended an all-girls private high school, so I have experienced every spectrum of the education system. Growing up I was an active member of Student Council/Government, Wauwatosa Youth Commission (a service committee), and many sports teams including soccer, basketball and skiing. My leadership within the community lead me to the field of education in serving others, but mostly children. I have coached children as well as tutored them and have found the personal connections created are beyond rewarding - they are inspirational.I currently hold teaching licenses for two different states: I am certified to teach first through eighth grade in Wisconsin and first through sixth grade in Minnesota. I previously worked as a student teacher in a second grade classroom, and a practicum teacher in a fourth grade classroom as well as an eighth grade science classroom in Madison, WI. While living in Minneapolis, I taught third and fourth grade in the Minneapolis Public Schools. During my years of teaching in Minneapolis, I attended the University of Minnesota to obtain my Masters of Literacy Education. I also received my K-12 Reading Teacher License for the state of Minnesota in Spring 2018. After moving in 2019, I also received my K-12 Reading Teacher License for the state of Wisconsin. Education is my passion and I truly care for the students in my classroom. My goal is to better the lives of these students by providing them with the tools that will allow them to excel in all aspects of their lives.
