About Katherine Kafkis
I am a fourth-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering (BME). Throughout my time at UW-Madison, I have consistently demonstrated academic excellence and active engagement within the community. To date, I have completed four engineering projects, honing my skills in research and development (R&D), computer-aided design (CAD), and technical writing. I have also been an undergraduate researcher in the Notbohm lab for the past two years and recently took on a project as a Hilldale Research Fellow. This experience has pushed me to teach myself not only the content of the research but also the technical skills necessary to complete and present it. Additionally, I have taken on leadership roles as the founder of two prominent student organizations on campus: End Overdose at UW-Madison and ISPE at UW-Madison. These experiences have given me invaluable insights into managing diverse teams, emphasizing the significance of effective time management and distributed leadership.
