About Katherine Horn
Professor of English and Women\'s and Gender Studies. I started teaching English at the college level in 1994. I\'ve been a full-time faculty member of the English Department at Suffolk University since June, 2017. At Suffolk I teach writing, literature, and Women\'s and Gender Studies courses. I also serve on committees, lead workshops, and advise student clubs at Suffolk University.At Framingham State University from I taught literature, theory, and writing at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Also at FSU, I served as Faculty Advisor to Creative Writing Club from 20••••13. Won Advisor of the Year 20••••12 for work with Creative Writing Club. Served as Faculty Advisor to the Equestrian Club at FSU from 20••••17. Worked as skilled Professional Writing Tutor at Center for Academic Support and Advising for five years at Framingham State University. Earned M.A. and Ph.D. in English from Tufts UniversityDissertation:\"In a New Vein: Theorizing Addiction and Identity in Thomas De Quincey, Sylvia Plath, and Tupac Shakur.\"Specialties: critical theory; queer theory; cultural studies; gender studies; critical race theory; disability studies; 20th and 21st century American, British, and World literature; hip-hop culture; theories, literature, psychology of addiction.
