Senior Operations Manager @Octopus Electric Vehicles

View department →

Despite loving my time in a Head of Department position, my life stage (2 young children) has led me to take a part-time, remote role at OEV. I\'m so grateful to this company for the incredible flexibility they offer mums to continue their careers in a way that enables them to prioritise family for a season. In this role, I\'ll be looking into incidents and redress to work out how we can improve our customer experience, reducing incidents and redress payments. I\'m really excited to be able to have such a tangible impact on the budget and on our customer experience and can\'t wait to get stuck in!

ABOUT KATHERINE CORNES

At Octopus Electric Vehicles, I am in the leadership team for our customer operations. I\'m currently owning incident and redress reduction to improve our customer experience whilst I work remotely and part-time. OEV have been incredibly flexible so I can do this role whilst I prioritise my little girls. Before mat leave, I managed our fantastic operations managers (who manage our team leads), forecasted our hiring requirements and helped to grow the team, whilst always keeping a keen eye on our metrics. I loved it and hope to return to Head of Department level responsibilities when the time is right for my family.I couldn’t have done these roles at OEV as well as I have if it hadn’t been for my 5 years at Bulb. During my time there, I first established myself as a leader in Bulb\'s customer service. I developed a broad range of skills across data analysis, workforce management, customer service strategy and, primarily, managing managers to produce high performing teams. I have consistently brought about impactful results through both the teams I manage and my contributions to the leadership team. Bulb went through a tough time for many of the years I was there; Covid was followed by the energy crisis which caused us to go into administration. Throughout this time I remained loyal to the company and to my team, and developed great resilience which will serve me for the rest of my career.
