About Katherine Barry

I am a second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Duke University, driven by a passion for helping others and making a meaningful impact through patient-centered care. Alongside my DPT studies, I currently serve in three complementary roles that have allowed me to develop leadership, organizational, and communication skills: as an Admissions & Curriculum Graduate Assistant for Duke DPT, an Event Administrative Assistant for the Duke Catholic Center, and a Sales Associate at Altar’d State.In my graduate assistant role, I support student recruitment, coordinate admissions and curriculum-related events, manage data and registration systems, and help facilitate a seamless experience for prospective and current students. As an event assistant at the Duke Catholic Center, I plan, organize, and execute community and faith-based events, working closely with staff, student leaders, and volunteers to foster engagement and connection. At Altar’d State, I provide exceptional guest experiences, guide customers in selecting products that align with their personal style, and collaborate with team members to maintain visual and operational excellence.Together, these experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, lead with purpose, manage complex logistics, and create positive, impactful experiences for individuals and groups. I bring this same dedication, empathy, and attention to detail to my clinical training, where I am committed to developing the skills necessary to provide high-quality, compassionate care. I am eager to continue growing as a clinician, building meaningful relationships with patients, and contributing to the broader healthcare community as a future licensed physical therapist.
