About Katherine Barnard
I am a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in Animal and Veterinary Biosciences with plans to proceed to veterinary school after graduation in pursuit of a career in large animal/equine veterinary medicine. My experience shadowing veterinarians, working in large animal industry environments, and working as a small animal veterinary assistant has allowed me to learn about animal handling, behavior, communications, and procedures. Through my work I have learned how to vaccinate, preform blood draws/lab work, patient monitoring, radiology, dentistry through grading and cleaning, pharmaceutical distributions, and animal care.
