ABOUT KATHARINE BARBER
It took parenthood to bring me to Home-Start, first as a volunteer and trustee, and now as the proud CEO of Home-Start Oxford and its brilliant team. I\'m passionate about the need for support for parents and children in the critical early years, and using our experience to advocate for social change. I\'m an alumni of \'Mobilise\' with the PEDAL Institute at the University of Cambridge, applying insights from academia on early child development, to drive change in policy and practice. I\'m also co-founder of Oxfordshire\'s Early Years VCS Network, and part of the County\'s Early Years Board. My earlier career was in philanthropy and grant making, having developed and then led a charitable foundation, supporting diverse communities in London. Interests include family wellbeing and child development, gender and equalities issues, community development, social policy and justice.
