ABOUT KATE SMITH
After 20+ years leading teams through transformation at Wiley, I founded We Are Firestarter to help leaders and organisations do what matters most: build cultures where people thrive.I work with leaders, HR specialists, and teams who know that sustainable performance isn\'t about working harder, it\'s about creating the conditions where people feel connected, trusted, and empowered to do their best work. What I do:I design and facilitate interventions that shift team dynamics, strengthen psychological safety, and build the kind of cultures where accountability and wellbeing aren\'t competing priorities, they\'re complementary ones. This includes team facilitation, leadership development programmes, DE & I consulting and speaking, executive coaching, and coaching supervision. My approach blends evidence-based frameworks with lived corporate experience and a deep belief that when people care beyond their remit, teams come alive.Who I work with:Leaders navigating complexity and change. HR professionals building cultures that stick. Teams ready to move from functional to exceptional. Individuals looking to grow. What drives me:I\'m particularly passionate about neurodiversity advocacy and creating workplaces where different minds don\'t just survive, but flourish. I also serve as a Visiting Industrial Fellow, bridging academic insight with practical application.Let\'s connect if you\'re building teams and cultures rooted in trust, growth, and genuine human connection.
