About Kate Schild
Work Experience: I have been employed in several areas throughout high school and college, including a restaurant, retail store, and veterinary clinic. I was employed as a hostess at Terrazzo Trattoria from 2019 to 2022, where I learned skills of communication, multi-tasking, and problem-solving. Following this job, I was employed at Très Bleu Boutique, where I currently work as a sales associate with a team to meet and exceed sales goals and customer satisfaction. I was accepted as an intern at Paws and Claws Exotic Animal Hospital during the summer of 2022, where I worked with veterinarians to care for exotic animals and injured wildlife from New Hanover County and surrounding areas. My responsibilities included interacting with clients, assisting during examinations and surgeries, and helping out in other various ways. Extracurricular Activities: I have volunteered with paws4people since 2019, where I both assist in the training of young canines and host and care for puppies during their times of training. I am a volunteer in the Shamrock Fundraiser and 5K, where I help fundraise for Prevent Child Abuse America and The Center for Child and Family Health in Durham, North Carolina. I am a member of the Pre-Veterinary Society of UNC Chapel Hill, and a member and volunteer for the Puppies at Carolina organization. Goals: After completion of my undergraduate studies, I aspire to attend veterinary school to become an exotic animal veterinarian.
