After attending FAccT (the ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency) three times (in Atlanta, Chicago and Rio de Janeiro), I\'m pleased to have been selected as a subject Area Chair for FAccT 2026 where I\'m helping guide the peer review process for papers on Evaluations and Evaluation Practices. Following two years as a paper reviewer for the massive, much older and more technical Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS), I\'m excited to dig into the socio-technical work submitted to FAccT in this new way. In the fast-moving world of AI, AI governance and AI governance-related evaluation and measurement, understanding early research in these areas and how they\'re evolving is immensely important.
