Plaza District Council is an urban place management organization, representing and collaborating with Plaza area stakeholders to support this iconic and historic district and the surrounding neighborhoods. Plaza District Council represents the needs and concerns of residents, nearby neighborhoods, tenants, merchants, business owners, organizations, and visitors. Our goal is to be a convener for Plaza area related planning and development projects, community issues, and placemaking activities.As a collaborative, nonprofit organization, we strive to include a broad group of stakeholders and find common ground through active dialogue. We seek to understand varying perspectives and achieve a common vision for the future of this vital part of Kansas City.Plaza District Council is a donor supported, 501(c)3, place management organization whose purpose is to provide support, community input and momentum to area projects that align with our core tenets:· Sustainable economic vitality· Equitable stakeholder representation· Creating a place of community & belonging· Safety, security, and walkability· Alignment with the distinctive architectural signature of the area
