ABOUT KATELYN LAWS
As the Associate Director of Rare Disease Legislative Advocates (RDLA), a program of the EveryLife Foundation, I empower the rare disease patient community to advocate for impactful, science-driven legislation and policy that advances the development of treatments, diagnostic opportunities, and access to care. I facilitate monthly legislative webinars and quarterly Rare Disease Congressional Caucus briefings, manage the organization\'s grant program, host advocacy training programs, organize in-person and virtual Hill days, and more. I earned both a Master of Public Policy and a Graduate Certificate in Analytics and Management from American University, where I focused on social policy and health equity issues. I also earned a Bachelor\'s degree in Political Science from Appalachian State University. My main objective is to make a positive impact on the world while also being an efficient leader, team member, and effective communicator at all levels. I have strong skills in advocate development, teamwork, and patient advocacy, as well as domain expertise in rare disease policy, politics and advocacy, and women\'s policy. I am passionate about improving the lives of rare disease patients and their families, and ensuring that they have a voice in the policy-making process.
