ABOUT KATELYN GENOUD
I recently completed a PhD in biomedical engineering focusing on the development of non-antibiotic antimicrobial 3D printed composite scaffolds for the prevention of infected bone defects (osteomyelitis). This provides me with a strong background in multidisciplinary approaches for developing novel tissue engineered solutions. I also have strong skills in biomaterial characterization, engineering, microbiology, cell biology, and more. My bachelors\' of applied science in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering as well as a double-masters degrees in Biomedical and Bioengineering provide me with in depth knowledge and tenacity to tackle any problem. Outside of research I am deeply passionate about communications, engagement, and partnership. I have previously been involved with the Postgraduate Students\' Union RCSI as both the President and Communications Officer. I have worked closely and partnered with university faculty and staff to ensure that the postgraduate voice is heard at an institutional management level as well as promoting a culture of partnership and inclusivity to drive positive change across the community.
