Hi! I\'m Katelyn, and I bring 13 years of experience working at the intersections of product design, service design, UX research, and writing. I\'m drawn to mission-driven work in complex industries where thoughtful design can make a meaningful impact in people\'s lives.I approach problems through a systems thinking lens, using frameworks like OOUX (Object-Oriented UX) to create clarity in complex spaces. My previous UX writing certification helped sharpen my eye for the kind of precise word choice that makes interfaces feel intuitive and human. Whether I\'m mapping service ecosystems, collaborating with technical stakeholders to improve backend processes, or crafting microcopy, I focus on designing experiences that work with how people actually think and behave.I work cross-collaboratively and in the open, leveraging both my own strengths and my teammates\' expertise to move work forward. My design philosophy is simple: make someone\'s day just 10% easier. My approach is grounded in proven methods but flexible enough to evolve as projects shift and the design landscape changes.    Currently, I work on a making health care more accessible and intuitive by improving the appointment booking process for VA health facilities and beyond, including community care appointments for Veterans.Previously, I\'ve improved the disability claims process to speed up processing times and get Veterans benefits faster. I also built better forms for the health enrollment experience on VA.gov.
