My responsibility was to manage UK Procurement for Direct and Indirect requirements reporting into the MD. Operating at 5 sites across the UK with approx. 500 • Indirect: Utilities, Freight, Facilities, Capex etc.• Direct: Raw materials, PPE, First Aid, Traffic, Workwear, Medical devices, Winter products, LOTO, Safety Signs, Coshh, Office & Commercial Equipment.• Created Procurement strategies and plans • Consistently exceeded annual savings targets by an average of 65%, achieving direct cost savings over three years through supplier negotiations and strategic purchasing.• Reduced supplier base from 290 to 250, focusing on key partnerships, and introduced supplier performance reviews for 60 vendors, improving delivery reliability.• Developed procurement dashboards for inventory, reporting, and tracking KPIs, cutting obsolete and excess stock by 32%.• Delivered a significant saving on freight through a competitive tender process and restructured purchasing terms to improve margins.• Designed and implemented a slow and low-moving items report, reducing low-value inventory.• Directed a seasonal procurement strategy for winter inventory, mitigating supply risks and ensuring robust stock availability.• Led the successful launch of five new product ranges by managing supplier engagement, risk mitigation, and supply chain alignment across five regions (Europe, Australia and US markets).• ESG: Managed Sedex and ISO accreditations across all suppliers.
