About Kate Heustis

My career goals have always been centered on one concept: helping people. I have a real passion and drive for assisting others to accomplish success, feel connected or to be understood. Throughout my career, I have enjoyed the challenge of helping others by tailoring plans to meet the desired goal.I am currently a career services professional at The University of Cincinnati in The Lindner College of Business. Here I am supporting students in their professional development by teaching a professionalism course and meeting with students independently. I assist students in finding co-op positions that provide valuable experience related to their career goals. I have extensive experience in correspondence and outreach to employers in business, natural science, and behavioral science fields while establishing and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships. Prior to my roles in higher education, I was a public educator with seven years of experience teaching middle school and high school social studies content. During my career, I really focused on perfecting my leadership experience through participating in and overseeing initiatives and events. I also developed a variety of skills that enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively.
