About Kate Duddy

In the winter of 2015, in a land, far, far away, known as South Korea, a parka clad American teacher, named Kate, sat in an unheated teachers office, alone. Kate was contractually obligated to be at school for 40 hours a week, even during winter vacation, when there would be no students, and very few teachers on campus. She wanted to do something productive and came across an online coding course. Down the rabbit hole she went. When she came out on the other side, she was introduced to a new world—a fascinating world filled with magic. Algorithms flitted around her head, there were glittering, beautiful Rubies and friendly, familiar Pythons, the omniscient Stack Overflow River gurgled hints and answers as she skipped along its banks. From that day on, any free time she had was spent visiting the rabbit hole. The more she visited, the more strange and marvelous things she encountered, and the more she wished to return and understand this world she had entered.One day Kate realized that not everyone understood the land that she had encountered and come to love (she also noticed it could get a bit lonely). It was time for her to return to where she had come from. Upon her return she discovered her passion for technology was valuable. She also discovered it was possible to stay in touch with her Wonderland while keeping both feet in her own world - by working with people to promote and utilize technology in effective ways.
