ABOUT KATE DRIESSEN

Twenty years of progressive Human Resources experience focused on leading others in the areas of Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, HR operations, HRIS and compliance in the healthcare and higher education business sectors.My foundation in the Human Resources profession was formed as a recruiter for a community hospital in southeastern Wisconsin. This experience provided me with a firm understanding of the talent acquisition challenges in the healthcare industry. From this, my skills of developing relationships with employees and leadership has grown with a passion for building partnerships which has enabled me to realize professional success as a seasoned Human Resources Business Partner and Manager. The Human Resources role has the unique challenge of not only protecting the interests of the company, but also being seen as a resource for the individual contributor of the organization. I feel that my ability to bridge those two worlds is my biggest strength that I am able to share with the individuals I work with. Leading my own team of direct reports has provided me with further opportunities to guide and mentor others, both new to the profession and seasoned professionals, to help them reach their full potential. By providing challenging opportunities while offering guidance along the way, I have found a tremendous sense of professional satisfaction when others are recognized for their achievements. Gandhi\'s words,\"You must be the change you wish to see in the world\", has always resonated with me and speaks to how I strive to approach each new challenge. I have a high standard of professional and personal integrity and ending the day knowing that I did my best to approach each situation I encountered with both the company and individual contributors’ interests at the center of the conversation is, to me, a very good day.
