About Kate Gardner Burt
I’m looking to expand my knowledge and network in the public health strategy and culinary innovation space because I want to continue advancing the following skills: key opinion leader, public health strategist, evaluation specialist, cross-functional collaboration, culinary expertise, dynamic innovator and data strategies. I have leveraged my program leadership expertise to oversee all aspects of the Dietetics, Foods, and Nutrition Program, including recruitment, and advising, while efficiently coordinating course offerings and faculty assignments to meet the evolving needs of ~300 students. I developed a strategic plan to revamp the curriculum and align it with regulatory changes, successfully implementing a 3-year transition that resulted in an increase in new majors and recognition across my field.I have managed process and outcome evaluations for significant and impactful grant projects totaling over $2M, including for the New York Botanical Garden and Corbin Hill Food Project, integrating culinary education, food entrepreneurship, as well as economic empowerment and leadership activities to serve hundreds of community members annually.In addition, I have the following qualifications- Cross-functional collaborator with experience designing and directing multiple innovative, interdisciplinary projects, as evidenced by more than 40 successful publications including in top peer-reviewed journals like the American Journal of Public Health. My work has been featured in top publications, including The Atlantic, Men’s Health, and Self Magazine- Expertise in strategic initiatives leveraged to evaluate programs and policies, using data-driven tools to develop strategic plans and procure over $500k funding to implement community-serving social justice programs in NYC- Commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in dietetics showcased by presenting ideas and research at notable events, such as for the National Kidney Foundation annual meeting, to promote intersectional inquiry within nutrition studies, resulting in over 30 presentations and invited talks.I want to serve organizations that prizes challenge, candor, and compassion among its employees.
