ABOUT KATE WOTTON

Kate joined Poynton Bradbury Architects in 2024, as Associate and Exeter lead, with over a decade of experience working in the public sector. Kate has worked with clients throughout the Southwest. In her previous role as associate director of design, Kate was responsible for leading a team of designers and co-ordinating multidisciplinary teams and a variety of stakeholders. Kate has experience in developing designs that stay within budget without compromising on architectural integrity and quality. Her strong communication skills ensure effective collaboration with clients, contractors, and stakeholders, allowing her to deliver successful projects that meet both functional and aesthetic needsKate has worked across a wide range of sectors including Education, Health, Community and Housing. Working on a high proportion of education schemes her work includes the development of comprehensive masterplans, new schools, extensions and refurbishments, often within the context of live school environments. Kate\'s specialist knowledge in designing for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) has been instrumental in shaping capacity and development plans for over 30 SEN establishments across Devon and Cornwall, including the design of new purpose-built SEN schools.Kate has a passion for working with and for people to create better built environments that positively impact communities, the environment and place making. She has detailed knowledge of low and zero carbon design and is a Certified Passivhaus Designer.
