ABOUT KATE ROBERTSON
Director of Corporate Legal Services, with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry and thorough knowledge and understanding of hospital sector regulatory requirements, guidelines and laws. Areas of practice include corporate/commercial, public procurement, charity/non-profits, medical research law, intellectual property and privacy. Currently responsible for the following-Strategic oversight of all Corporate Legal Services-Management of a legal team composed of 5 lawyers and 1 support staff-Operational leadership and support on complex legal matters as the most senior legal advisor to CAMH clinical and corporate leadership; and -Providing strategic advice with respect to minimizing risk and potential liabilities-Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts within both CAMH corporate and research portfolios.The scope of my current role also involves providing legal support to the CAMH Board of Trustees Governance Committee, Compliance Office (COI), the Policy Committee, as well as providing ongoing corporate legal support to the CAMH Foundation.
