Zablocki VA Medical CenterInpatient Acute Care Physical Therapist• Providing care to veterans w/ acute medical issues including care in the intensive care unit, cardiac and post-surgery. Establishing patient centered care plans and discharge recommendations including supervision and partnership w/ Physical Therapy Assistants.• Emphasis on applying specialized assessment, interpreting results and developing salient interventions for improved outcomes in patients with neurologic diagnoses. • Coverage for Inpatient Rehab Units, Outpatient Neurologic Clinic, Emergency Department evaluations, and extended time in both Inpatient and Outpatient Spinal Cord Injury.Sept 2020- Sept 2021: James A. Haley VA Medical Center Neurologic Physical Therapy Resident• Practicing in both inpatient & outpatient settings for mild to severe traumatic brain injuries, polytrauma injuries, vestibular disorders, spinal cord injuries, stroke & degenerative neurologic diagnoses including Parkinson’s syndromes, Multiple Sclerosis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis• Implementation of treatment plans based on evidence-based interventions, establishing prognosis and management of care plans and goals based on patient response to treatment, interdisciplinary communication and patient advocacy.• Coordination and curriculum management of outpatient groups for stroke and Parkinson’s.• Telehealth experience utilizing VA Video Connect (VVC) for assessment, treatment and home evaluations.• Experience with manual & power wheelchair ordering, fitting & skills training.• Collaboration w/ prosthetists & orthotists for custom equipment • Knowledge translation initiatives as subject matter expert on topics including PT profession & principles of neurologic rehabilitation; case study research for hospital wide annual research day
