Providing colleagues, external consultants and stakeholders with advice on the significance of English Heritage’s properties, and the most effective means of conserving and enhancing that significance- Helping develop technical conservation expertise and practice and implementing English Heritage’s Sustainable Conservation strategy across the historic estate- Playing an integral role in major national project teams and boards and working with contractors to ensure all works are appropriate and of the highest quality whilst also remaining within fixed budgets- Undertaking site inspections, reporting on the state of conservation of monuments and buildings and of interpretation materials on sites, making recommendations for remedial works- Preparing Scheduled Monument Consent documentation and applications for Listed Building Consent or planning permissions, in support of various project streams, including Capital Investment Projects, presentation projects and conservation projects- Managing the commissioning of archaeological research, historical research and building and landscape recording, in support of conservation and maintenance work, such as Conservation Plans and Statements- Contributing to the development of presentation and interpretation schemes, ensuring that they incorporate research of the highest quality.
