Grief isn’t always about death. Sometimes, it’s about losing parts of yourself. Hi, I’m Kate - a grief and identity educator. I support women through the often invisible but deeply felt experience of identity loss, especially in matrescence (the process of becoming a mother), but also in the personal shifts that come with career changes, relationship transitions, and seasons of growth. With a Master’s in Death, Religion and Culture, I studied the rituals, psychology, and meaning-making we bring to loss. But it was my own lived experience, particularly the transition into motherhood, that showed me just how powerful (and isolating) identity grief can be. The Lost Self ClubI work with women who find themselves somewhere between endings and beginnings. Those navigating grief in all its forms, from the death of a loved one to the loss of a version of self that no longer fits. I offer 1:1 coaching, group sessions, and tools for rebuilding identity with compassion and clarity. As part of that work, I launched Season of Change - a coaching programme for mothers grieving the self they’ve lost in matrescence. Other WorkBefore this chapter, I spent over a decade working in marketing, brand strategy, and digital storytelling. I continue to take on select marketing projects, particularly those aligned with wellbeing, education, or purpose-driven businesses.
