ABOUT KATE MIELITZ
Understanding that we each have our own relationship with money, our own functional and dysfunctional relationship with it, helps me to work one-on-one or in small groups to influence others how to effectively use the money they have available and determine when it\'s appropriate to utilize credit. Helping others make positive financial changes in their lives, through coaching and relationship building, is the foundation of what I\'m about. I recently transitioned out of academia to help expand access for students and professionals to the AFC® credential and the financial services field at large. My passion is connecting people. In my current role that also involves helping people who are interested in serving underserved populations find the right path and curriculum for their needs. I have extensive volunteer experience working with vulnerable and underserved populations. I am well-published in the area of transitioning offenders and personal finance. My umbrella area of research interest is vulnerable populations. I am currently (2023) seeking the CDP® credential via the Institute for Diversity Certification. I am thrilled to be a part of the Education Advisory Board of the Tourette Association and prior to leaving academia served on the AFCPE Board of Directors.
