ABOUT KATE MCMILLAN
Kate a best-selling children\'s book author and concept designer with a special interest in the built environment. She studied architecture at Yale and Norwegian boat building through the Mortimer Hays-Brandeis Fellowship, after which she made her way out to Los Angeles to work as a concept artist in animation. She has also published four children\'s books, ranging from a nonfiction picture book about sustainable architecture to a middle grade diary series following an 11-year-old inventor. In her free time, she enjoys building furniture from scrap wood on the street (and in LA, there is a lot!).
