LifeSkills created with Barclays is the UK’s largest employability programme; it aims to givepeople access to the skills and experience they need to make the transition from education toemployment.Since its launch in 2012 the programme has had over 15m participants and has run a number ofspecifically tailored “deep Impact” projects designed to support young people who need it themost.I am responsible for: Strategic planning for the LifeSkills programme, using internal and external insights toidentify the key societal need and gaps in provision. I work closely with internalstakeholders to ensure programme remains relevant to business priorities and tocontinually obtain buy in for strategic direction Overseeing the management of the programme’s £3m budget, managing externalagencies to ensure consistent quality and strong value for money Implementing and managing the reporting, evaluation and measurement of theprogramme, both at scale and the societal impact, communicating this to stakeholders toensure buy in and cross business unit implementation Managing complex external stakeholder relationships, leading on engagement with keypartners such as charities, education and business bodies and key representatives inGovernment I report into the MD Head of Citizenship UK and Europe and leading two teams to deliveragainst ambitious and stretching targets, empowering and developing them to ensureeffective teamwork and a culture of strong values
