About Kate Levinson

I am an undergraduate student at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA, double majoring in History and Spanish, where I maintain a 3.94 GPA while working 20+ hours per week as a nanny and serving as a Catalyst Leadership Fellow, Honor Court Representative, and Spanish Department tutor.My academic interests sit at the intersection of history, law, and social justice, with a particular focus on race, power, and institutional accountability. My research and writing have examined topics including Critical Race Theory, the social harms of voluntourism, the Electoral College, and the racial implications of the U.S. death penalty. For this work, I have received multiple academic honors, including Excellence in the Social Sciences and the Rich-Dreyfuss Book Award.Previously, I studied at The Midland School in California, where I held leadership roles including student government member, LGBTQ+ affinity group leader, backpacking trip steward, and peer mentor—experiences that shaped my commitment to leadership, mentorship, and community responsibility.I plan to pursue a career in historical and legal academia, with long-term interests in law, education, and public scholarship. Outside the classroom, I love being outdoors—especially hiking and backpacking—and believe strongly that good thinking happens best after fresh air.
